The BATTLE FAMILY Team

Every dream begins with a dreamer ~ As an avid wine enthusiast, Skip Battle had often dreamed of producing his own estate wine. After acquiring a beautiful piece of the Alexander Valley countryside in 2006 and planting vineyards in 2008 his reverie came to fruition. Today his passion is shared by his children, Dan and Emily, who are focused on producing the highest quality wine from their estate vineyards.

    Founder

Growing up in rural Rhode Island, Skip Battle did not have much exposure to wine until he moved out west to attend Stanford Business School. He discovered his taste for wine when his friends created a monthly wine club to explore different varietals and regions. Skip gravitated toward French wines, learning French winemaking philosophy while metaphorically sipping his way through Burgundy and Bordeaux. Years later, he developed an interest in California’s Napa and Sonoma county offerings.

Upon finishing business school, Skip embarked on a 27-year career at Andersen Consulting, now known as Accenture. After retiring in 1995 to spend more time with his family, Skip become a senior moderator and senior fellow of the Aspen Institute, where he moderates the Henry Crown Fellowship and other fellowship classes at the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Not one to stay on the sidelines for long, Skip returned to business in 2000 as CEO of Ask Jeeves. He sold that company in 2005 and currently serves on the board of several technology companies.
